The park patrol log is significant because Summer's killer likely disposed of items at Highland Park. In the park patrol log, Officer Nathaniel Martinez discovers a bag with multiple items that line up with items discussed in the forensic analysis report (e.g. gloves with blood linked to the murder scene). We can infer that Summer's killer disposed of the items that were found by Officer Martinez and noted in the Park Patrol log.

Based on the park patrol log, when could Summer's killer have disposed of the items that Officer Martinez found?

Officer Martinez patrols the two zones of the park every 15 minutes (zones A and B). Officer Martinez finds the suspicious bag at 10:35AM in zone A (remember to add five minutes on as Officer Martinez noted in the margins of the patrol log). Officer Martinez was patrolling zone B from 10:20AM to 10:35AM. From this information, we can conclude that Summer's killer disposed of the items officer Martinez found between 10:20AM and 10:35AM.

We can place Summer's killer at Highland Park sometime between 10:20AM and 10:35AM. Do any suspects have an alibi for this timeframe?

Look at the cell phone data analysis and cell phone data. Is any suspect accounted for between 10:20AM and 10:35AM?

The cell phone data analysis report says that the cell phone with the number 248-114-1811 was travelling at a speed of 24 miles per hour between 10:08AM and 10:22AM. We can infer this person was probably travelling by car/bike. Because they were travelling west on Belmont Avenue (we can figure this out by looking at the Highland Park Map and comparing it to the addresses listed in the cell phone data), they would have passed by Zone B in Highland Park but not Zone A. We can infer that the person with this phone number couldn't have disposed of trash in Zone A in Highland Park between 10:08AM to 10:22AM.

 
Between 10:22 AM and 10:30 AM, cell phone data shows that the cell phone with the number 248-114-1811 was near Still Rock (Summer's office), and so couldn't have been at Highland Park.

We know that the suspect with the cell phone number 248-114-1811 is accounted for between 10:20-10:30. Could they have disposed of the trash between 10:30 to 10:35? What evidence shows this?

Look at the Highland Park map. Could someone have travelled from Still Rock to Zone A (in Highland Park) in 5 minutes?

Medina's cell phone number is 248-114-1811. The cell phone is Medina's.

The Highland Park map shows us that Still Rock is located at least 4 miles away from Highland Park (and Zone A is located near the back of Highland Park, so even further away). We can reasonably conclude that Medina would not have been able to travel to Highland Park and plant evidence within a five minute timeframe. If we really want to be sure, the officer notebook mentions that the speed limit along Belmont Avenue (the road between Still Rock and Highland Park) is 25mph. It would take 9.6 minutes to travel 4 miles if you're going 25 mph, and this isn't even taking into account the time needed to get in and out of the car, get to Zone A, and dispose of the evidence.

We can eliminate Medina based on the Highland Park map, the cell phone data analysis, and the park patrol log.

There's writing on the front of the note (the side with the picture of the brain diagram) that says: "Tiger, Do you remember how good we were together?" One words is circled. Pay special attention to this word.

The fingerprints belong to two different people, and both fingerprints are mirrored (i.e. the fingerprint on the envelope is the mirror image of another fingerprint).

Look at the following characteristics to rule out fingerprints that don't match Fingerprint A or B: the middle part of the fingerprint (is it a circle? Is there any distinctive lines or marks?), the shape of the fingerprint, line patterns, shapes (spirals, swirls etc.)

The fingerprints do not belong to Dante or Luna.

The fingerprints do not belong to Harrison or Medina.

The fingerprints do not belong to Ezra.

Fingerprint A belongs to Jessica (matches her left fingerprint, mirrored).

Fingerprint B belongs to Summer (matches her right thumb print, mirrored).
